🧏 Deaf Events in Seattle
Have you ever wanted to learn American Sign Language (ASL)? Or maybe you're already fluent in ASL and want to meet other Deaf people in the Seattle area? Or maybe you're just curious about Deaf culture and want to learn more? Look no further!
I've compiled a list of recurring Deaf events in Seattle. This is not an exhaustive list, but it's a good start to get you connected with the Deaf community in Seattle.
Recurring Events
- UW ASL Club
- Various locations on University of Washington campus, check their Instagram for details. Does not require UW affiliation & does not meet during summer.
- Bellevue College ASL Club
- Every Wednesday night from 7-9PM @ Factoria Mall.
- ASL Classes (and social)
- Meets at CC Attle's on East Olive Way
- Deaf Night Out
- Typically first or second Saturday of each month @ various locations. Check their Facebook page for details.
- Visually Speaking
- Usually meets at least once a week. Check their website for details.
- Various auxiliary events throughout the month
Those events are all free to attend and open to the public. If you're new to the Deaf community, don't be afraid to go to these events alone. You'll be welcomed with open arms. 😊
Additional Resources
Remember to check out Deaf Spotlight for upcoming events. They host a variety of events throughout the year, including the Seattle Deaf Film Festival.
Hearing, Speech, and Deaf Center (HSDC) is also an excellent resource.
